When protests go wrong.....

According to my sources, at last night's appreciation dinner by the American Conservative Union for Majority Whip Tom Delay, a group of protestors showed up. Naturally, since, of course, there would be plenty of media about in the feeding frenzy that is following Mr. Delay -- waiting and hoping like sharks for the next drop of blood to fall in the water. (Sometimes I really despise this town.)

At any rate, these protestors came armed with props -- soap for the attendees. That's right, bars of soap for those who showed up to support Tom Delay. ACU (thanks to the ever-brilliant Craig Shirley at Shirley & Banister) came up with the idea to place bins outside the event for the attendees to put the bars of soap so that they can be sent to our troops overseas. And, it should be noted, that ACU even ordered pizzas and sodas for the wily band of protestors.

Now. Here's the question. Since I have seen a fair amount of protestors from the Left, I am curious as to whether or not they were aware what their patrons/organizers were handing to them to give to the attendees. It is soap, after all.

Here's the next question. If they truly believe that soap is required to be supportive of Tom Delay -- to "cleanse one's body and soul" as it were, for such support -- I am wondering what industrial strength solvent they must have required during the Clinton years.

Nice to know, though, isn't it, that the cash money of the Left is somehow being utilized to benefit our troops. Most excellent.
