STEVEN LUBET, LEGAL ETHICIST

People for the American Way has a few FAVORITE "legal ethicists" that just
love doing the dirty work for PFAW and smearing the credibility of ANY
nominee who will not do the judicial activist bidding of the far left.

One such "legal ethicist" is Steven Lubet. He recently did a piece on John
Roberts.
Where you find Lubet, chances are good you'll find Gillers, too, by
the way.

Except in one particular photo.

At Northwestern in the 1960s, during a Vietnam War protest, the chairman
of the SDS (a radical leftist organization), is photographed here on top of a car,
surrrounded by cops. This, my friends, is PFAW's favorite legal ethicist....
Steven Lubet....in all of his hippie, extremist, radical, regalia.

Then again, what do you expect from an organization like PFAW. This is
a group that will not be content until every copy of every Bible on planet Earth
is wiped out of your child's reach and replaced with every kind of pornography
and depravity known to mankind.

They have spent a substantial amount of their fundraising warchest either smearing
the characters of good decent folks who are not allowed to defend themselves in the press
or making certain that your child -- from toddler to teenager -- can't touch a Bible, but has
every method of access to every form of perversion imaginable -- and some you can't possibly
imagine.

When they are not making the world safer for pornographers and safe from exposure to
the Bible or the word G-O-D, they are trying to ensure that little children who are not wealthy
have only one educational choice in life -- to be trapped in public schools. That's right.

PFAW is standing in the schoolhouse door and denying parental choice -- the opportunity
for a parent to choose how their child will be educated. Hmmmm. I wonder what choice
ol' Ralphie Neas will make for his little girl. Since he gets paid about $300 grand a year, he
could pretty much send his child anywhere to school. All while he tries to stop every school
choice program in the country. All through those activist judges he wants so badly
on the bench.....

Starting to get the picture here?

What do Yassar Arafat and Medea Benjamin have in common?

1) They both fund terrorists (One in the recent past, one currently) and 2) They have both been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Yassar actually won his, but Medea is claiming she is a nominee. How delightful.

That's correct -- Yassar Arafat WON the Nobel Peace Prize and apparently, Media Bejamin, co-founder of Code Pink, has been nominated for the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize.

Here is the paragraph from a recent press release:

http://www.commondreams.org/views05/0826-21.htm
Medea Benjamin and Gayle Brandeis are members of CODEPINK: Women for Peace, a group that has been actively involved in the vigil in Crawford, Texas. Medea Benjamin is co-founder of CODEPINK, founder of Global Exchange, and nominee for the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize. Gayle Brandeis is the author of The Book of Dead Birds, which won Barbara Kingsolver's Bellwether Prize for Fiction in Support of a Literature of Social Change.

HAPPY 85TH ANNIVERSARY!!!!!

Ok, so no one noticed (with the exception of NOW), but Republicans SHOULD be trumpeting this everywhere.

AUGUST 26th is the 85th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment. Thanks to Republicans, women vote.

But no fanfare on this momentous occasion, only a release from NOW -- which they turn this into a day to try to talk about the ERA and how evil John Roberts is.

Here's the link: http://www.fosters.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050826/NEWS1301/108260046

C'est la vie.

Sigh. John Roberts......is a cross dresser.

That's right. You read it correctly. John Roberts, Supreme Court nominee, donned a dress once.

Of course, it was at his all-male high school production of "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown." He played Peppermint Patty.

Now, this comes from "Gay City News"

And they write that there is "no word on who played Patty's security blanket-toting love interest Linus. Perhaps a surprise witness at the confirmation hearings is still possible."

Just goes to show you that a little fact checking always helps. Not to be nit-picky here, but as a mother of young children who has watched more than her share of Charlie Brown cartoons, Linus was NOT Peppermint Patty's love interest. Linus was Sally's love interest. Sally was, of course, Charlie Brown's little sister. Peppermint Patty's love interest was "Chuck"......Charlie Brown himself.

I'd cut him a little break here, though, friends. Remember, at the time that Shakespeare was writing and producing his plays, the casts were all male. So there were quite a few Shakespearean "Juliets" who were male....and I'm sure did a fine job.

Can you believe the stuff the left comes up with? Sheesh.

Got a question for Cindy Sheehan....

....The new symbol of the anti-war movement in Crawford Texas -- who just left for her mother's hospital bedside -- I just want to know, Cindy.....do you have an exit strategy for getting out of Crawford?

KENNEDY CALLS FOR INVESTIGATION INTO VITAL
MISSING DOCUMENTS ON JOHN ROBERTS

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Laura Capps/Melissa Wagoner
(202) 224-2633
Washington, D.C. -- Today, Senator Edward M. Kennedy sent a letter
to the U.S. Department of Justice calling for an immediate investigation
into the missing Affirmative Action documents referred to in the August
15 cover letter accompanying John Roberts' documents from the National
Archives and Records Administration (NARA).

The missing files, titled "Affirmative Action Correspondence," had been
in possession of unnamed Administration officials in mid-July, presumably
before John Roberts was nominated to the Supreme Court.

With only a few weeks left to review these important documents, Senator
Kennedy sent the following letter to the DOJ requesting a speedy
investigation into this matter. The text of the letter is provided below:
August 16, 2005
Glenn A. Fine U. S. Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General
950 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Suite 4706 Washington, DC 20530
H. Marshall Jarrett U.S. Department of Justice Office of Professional
Responsibility 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Suite 3529 Washington,
D.C. 20530

Dear Mr. Fine and Mr. Jarrett:
The cover letter which accompanied the August 15, 2005, release by
the National Archives and Records Administration of John Roberts'
documents from the Reagan Presidential Library stated that NARA
was "unable to locate" a folder entitled "Affirmative Action Correspondence"
which had been in the possession of unnamed "administration officials"
during the review process. We understand that in addition to White
House personnel, those officials may have included Department of Justice
personnel.

Although NARA believes that it has located other copies in its files of some
or all of the missing documents, there remains the question of what
happened to the original documents. Given the importance of the
documents, and their disappearance in the context of a highly
controversial Supreme Court nomination, where the nominee's
opposition to accepted remedies for discrimination may well be a
key issue, I request that you conduct an immediate and expedited
investigation into their disappearance.

Given the short timeline for consideration of the nomination, I ask
that you confirm promptly that one or both of your offices will
speedily investigate the matter.

As always, thank you for your assistance,

Respectfully,
Edward M. Kennedy

A stroll down nominations memory lane....

Today’s Washington Post reports Senate Democrats may refrain from attacking John Roberts, allowing him easy confirmation. Pasted below, articles from the Clarence Thomas confirmation, after Thomas’ initial testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
