What in heaven's name does this mean?
Ok. I have to admit that Arlen Specter did a remarkably good job in the recent set of hearings for Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Alito (boy, do I like the sound of that). But in a recent interview, and reprinted in the Washington Post, Specter has a bizarre quote that truly bears explaining:
When Gonzales argues that the Constitution gives the president undisputable powers to conduct warrantless surveillance despite a statute aimed at requiring him to seek court approval, such an interpretation “is not sound,” Specter said in the interview. “… He's smoking Dutch Cleanser.”
Is this a problem? Is Dutch Cleanser popular in the caucus? That might explain a lot.
You just KNOW that there is a story behind this quote.

I don't know about the Dutch cleanser comment but one thing is certain; when the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee believes that legislation can over-ride the Constitution, we have a serious problem.
Specter represents the epidome of why one should NEVER vote for a RINO!! He is further out in left field than a couple of Dumbcrats and his propaganda should never be considered as serious thought.
Sphincter has once again shown he is a out-of-touch RHINO. The party and the President made a huge mistake in supporting this dufus for reelection and we are paying the price. He is a liability on the Judiciary Committee and cannot stop blabbing to the Press. He has become dangerous instead of just incompetent. The best he has to offer is an anology to "Dutch Cleanser?" Get rid of this time warped anachronism.

Where does the Constitution give the president undisputable powers to conduct warrantless searches?
Perhaps Specter is corrent on this one.
